ICAI BIG UPDATE 🚨📢 CA Foundation, Intermediate, and Final Exams will be held in January 2026

In pursuance of Regulation 22 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India announces the schedule for the upcoming Chartered Accountants Foundation, Intermediate, and Final Examinations. The examinations will be held on the specified dates and places, contingent on a sufficient number of candidates registering for each location.

Examination Dates and Schedule

Final Course Examination

As per the syllabus outlined in the scheme notified by the Council under Regulation 31 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

Intermediate Course Examination

As per the syllabus outlined in the scheme notified by the Council under Regulation 28 F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

Foundation Course Examination

As per the syllabus outlined in the scheme notified by the Council under Regulation 25 F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

  • Dates: 18th, 20th, 22nd & 24th January 2026

Members' Examination

No examination is scheduled on 14th January 2026 (Wednesday) due to Makar Sankranti, Magha Bihu, and Pongal festivals across India. The examination schedule will not change if any day is declared a Public Holiday by governmental bodies.

Examination Duration and Timings

  • Foundation Course:
    • Paper(s) 1 & 2: 2 PM to 5 PM (3 Hours)
    • Paper 3 & 4: 2 PM to 4 PM (2 Hours)
  • Intermediate Course:
    • Paper 1 to 5: 2 PM to 5 PM (3 Hours)
  • Final Course:
    • Papers 1 to 5: 2 PM to 5 PM (3 Hours)
    • Paper 6: 2 PM to 6 PM (4 Hours)

Note: There is no advance reading time for Papers 3 & 4 of the Foundation Examination and all papers of the International Taxation Assessment Test.

Examination Cities in India

The Chartered Accountants Examinations, January 2026, will be held in numerous Indian cities, including:

  • Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Port Blair
  • Andhra Pradesh: Anantapur, Eluru, Guntur, and more
  • Karnataka: Bengaluru, Mysore, and more
  • Maharashtra: Mumbai, Pune, and more
  • Uttar Pradesh: Agra, Kanpur, and more
  • West Bengal: Kolkata, Siliguri, and more

Examination Cities Overseas

The January 2026 Examinations will also be held in the following overseas cities:

  • Bahrain

Online Application and Examination Fees

All candidates must apply online for the Foundation, Intermediate, and Final Examinations via the Self Service Portal - SSP and pay the requisite examination fees. The examination fee structure for various courses is as follows:

Intermediate Course Examination

  • For Indian Centres:
    • Single Group: ₹ 1500/-
    • Both Groups: ₹ 2700/-
  • For Overseas Centres:
    • Single Group: US$ 325
    • Both Groups: US$ 500

Final Course Examination

  • For Indian Centres:
    • Single Group: ₹ 1800/-
    • Both Groups: ₹ 3300/-
  • For Overseas Centres:
    • Single Group: US$ 325
    • Both Groups: US$ 550

Foundation Course Examination

  • Indian Centres: ₹ 1500/-
  • Overseas Centres: US$ 325

The application window for submission of examination forms opens on 3rd November 2025 and closes on 16th November 2025 (without late fee). A late fee of ₹ 600/- or US $ 10 applies after the deadline.

Additional Information

Candidates can choose to answer papers in either English or Hindi for Foundation, Intermediate, and Final Examinations. Detailed information can be found in the guidance notes on the official website.
